Henceforth, labeling Higurashi (2020) unwelcoming for newcomers is wrong in its premise. You can only consider the "spoilers" as "spoilers" viewing Higurashi (2020) if you consider the ORDER that Higurashi (2006) took to tell the story. Or, rather, it is telling a new mystery with the pieces of information scattered differently from the original Higurashi (2006) anime. In simpler words, Higurashi (2020) is telling the story of Hinamizawa, but in a completely different order. It is part of the experience, part of the mystery, and part of the anime itself. This is inherently wrong in its premise.Ī newcomer to the series who is watching Higurashi (2020) will NEVER consider what is happening within the Episodes a spoiler. The argument made is that Higurashi (2020) gives many major spoilers for the series. It mostly revolves around the notion that the anime is not suited for Newcomers, that it is not a Remake, that it is a sequel, or that it is a Remaster, and so forth.įrom the three episodes we have been given, I can honestly say that this anime is welcoming to newcomers and oldies alike and that the anime can be BOTH considered a Remake and a Sequel.

I have seen a lot of controversies both in the subreddit and the anime-pages-comment sections about Higurashi (2020).
